Pete Tong's Essential New Tune
It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)
Peggy Gou
Ninja Tune
out now
Comment
I’ve been pondering over this all week, because this track, well, we’ve played it many times on this show. It’s actually been out for a few weeks, but more and more people are talking about it, enjoying hearing it and asking to hear it again. So, I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t bring myself to name another Essential New Tune before I give that honour to this track. It is definitely a grower, the whole vibe around this lady is picking up and it feels like she’s in for a big year. All the way from Korea via Berlin, London and New York, it’s out on Ninja Tune, it’s already been Annie’s ‘Hottest’, it’s now being made a certifiable Essential New Tune for 2018: Peggy Gou, It Makes You Forget (Itgehane).
This week's featured Essential New Tune was featured in last week’s Friday show on BBC Radio 1. Listen here.
