  • Kobalt reported that its gross collections grew by 30% to $494m in the fiscal year ending 30 June 2018. Revenues increased by 25.3% to $402m. AWAL revenue grew 50%. (RotD)

  • IFPI Global Music Report. (RotD) Worldwide recorded music revenues rose 9.7% to $19.1bn (£14.6bn) in 2018. Streaming revenue rose by 34% year-on-year to $8.9bn, accounting for 47% of the total. The sale of physical formats fell by 10.1% to $4.7bn, 24.6% of the market. Download revenue declined 21.2% to $2.3bn, 7.7% of the market. Sync revenue was up by 5.2%, while performance rights revenue was up by 9.8% and now represents 14% of total recorded music revenues.
  • Red Bull Music Academy and Red Bull Radio will end in its current form in October. A statement read "Red Bull will be moving away from a strongly centralized approach, will gradually phase out the existing structure and will implement a new setup which empowers existing Red Bull country teams and utilizes local expertise. Red Bull will continue to explore new ways to support promising and cutting-edge artists wherever they may be". (RA)
