"This week's ENT comes from Killen., a young producer from Sweden who has already made a name for himself behind the scenes working alongside the likes of Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta as a songwriter and in-studio producer. He's now coming out on his own as an artist in his own right. We played his previous single, but this is on another level. This is taken from Killen.'s upcoming debut EP due out on Funfair Records on 31 May. I've met Killen., a lovely guy, super talented. We think he is going to be a future star."

  • A new levy on arena and stadium concert tickets is the best way to support struggling local music venues, the cross-party Culture, Media and Sport committee in the UK has recommended. It also suggested a cut in VAT to help grassroots venues, and also if those in the industry do not reach an agreement for a subsidy by September, the government should intervene to make it a legal requirement.   • Spain's Balearic Islands are expanding curbs on street drinking and further restricting party boats in a bid to crack down on alcohol-fuelled holidays in tourist areas. (BBC) 
    Holidaymakers caught drinking outside of authorised areas could also be fined up to €1,500, according to new rules set by the Balearic government. (DJMag)

  • Spotify has revealed that the royalties generated by artists in 2023 was in excess of £750m, more than double the amount for 2017. (Loud&Clear) Almost 1,000 artists were played often enough to generate at least £100,000 in royalties each.
