"It comes from the German duo Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer. They are back with their first original material in three years. Âme are at the core of the label Innervisions alongside Dixon. For me such an influential duo, who provided one of my all-time favourite Essential Mixes back in the day, 2006 to be precise. I think I drove around Ibiza in my car all summer listening to it. I am very happy to have them back. This is a special record. It's anthemic. It's a banger and this week's ENT."

  • Beatdapp partners with Beatport to combat streaming fraud, which they report has been costing the music industry $2bn a year. (MusicAlly) 
  • How Fortnite and Roblox are becoming marketing tools for the music industry. (DigiDay) 
  • With a new integration, Shazam users will now be able to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster. (DMN) 
  • Apple Music has added requirements for all new uploaded music, including that all songs uploaded must include lyrics. (Hypebot) 
  • Resident Advisor and SoundCloud announced a strategic partnership to further connect artists and fans and improve music and event discovery by intermixing SoundCloud and RA profiles. (RotD) 
  • YouTube Music is introducing two new ways to boost song discovery on its platform - experimenting with an AI-generated conversational radio feature, and rolling out a new Shazam-like tool to help users discover the name of a song by singing, humming or playing parts of it. (TechCrunch)

  • The value of UK music sales (combining vinyl, CD and downloads) grew by 7.9% to £163.8m in the first half of 2024, according to figures compiled by ERA, significantly outpacing video sales and videogame sales.
