  • Deezer reported a 13.8% year-on-year revenue boost for Q3 for a total of €115.2m. (DMN) For the year-to-date, the company reported €334.6m in revenue, up 12.7% YoY. 
  • In its Q3, Spotify’s premium subscribers bumped 13% to 195m, an increase of 7 million since last quarter, while monthly average users (MAUs) jumped 20% to 456m. (Verge) 
  • Universal Music Group announced financial results for the third quarter ended 30 September 2022, reporting a revenue increase of 13.3% to €2.66bn. Recorded music revenue grew by 10.1%, music publishing up 6.9%, and adjusted EBITDA up 9.1%. (DMN)

  • A new code of conduct to eliminate racism in the music industry will be adopted in 2023. Designed by Black Lives in Music (BLIM), the UK Music Industry Anti-Racism Code will cover issues around pay, inclusion and safety for Black, Asian and ethnically diverse members of the sector. (Guardian) 
  • BBC Radio 1 has announced the DJs named as part of the Annie Nightingale Presents Scholarship 2022, an initiative which launched last year to champion up-and-coming women and non-binary DJs in the Dance scene. (BBC) 
  • Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 had 450,000 attendees at this year's event and has announced it will return in 2023 on 18-22 October. (EDM) 
  • Laila McKenzie, co-founder of collective and record label Lady of the House (LOTH), is set to “take time away” from her role following accusations of bullying, gaslighting, and harassment. Laila McKenzie has since denied these reports, saying in a statement that she "wholly reject(s) the allegations made" and that she "was shocked and saddened by [Black Girl, White Girl's] subsequent public statement and personal attack on my character."
