"So I've got to say, I've never heard of them before. Don't know much about them. They're based in Copenhagen. They are a duo. They're called Bless You. Apparently, it's the first single from their forthcoming album. They've already made an album called 'Stay Human'. There have been over 2 million views on 'Gotta Move' teasers, pre-launch, and their club supporters include Keinemusik. And this just blew us away. When I heard this a few weeks ago. I've road-tested it. Clearly, they've been influenced by the likes of Samm & AJNA, which is not a bad thing in my book. So this week's ENT is a total banger."

Paid streaming subscriptions hit 100m in the US for the first time ever in 2024, according to the RIAA annual recorded music revenue report. Recorded music was retail valued at $17.7bn (trade revenue $11.3bn), a 3.3% increase on 2023. Total physical revenues of $2bn were up 5%. (Variety)
The IFPI's annual Global Music Report showed recorded music revenues grew by 4.8% in 2024 to $29.6bn. It was the tenth consecutive year of growth, although less than the 10.2% increase in 2023. Streaming revenues were 69% of the market, rising 7.3% to $20.4bn. Paid subscriptions grew 9.5%, ad-supported was up just 1.2%. Within physical, vinyl (4.6%), performance rights (5.9%) and sync revenues (6.4%) all grew, while CD (-6.1%) and music video (-15.5%) revenues dropped. In total, physical sales declined by 3.1% to $4.8bn. Downloads and other digital dropped -7.7%.
